Mr. Kaye serves as Chief Operating Officer and interim Director of the Birmingham center. In addition to launching Birmingham, he has focused on curriculum development, training, and the company's initial Learning Center offering. Rob's inspiration to found EarlyBirds was his daughter Avery, whom he hoped to expose to Spanish as a toddler. With no options available, he left a senior position at Deloitte Consulting to create EarlyBirds. Mr. Kaye brings over 11 years of problem solving and program management experience from one of the world's largest management consultancies. At Deloitte, his focus areas included strategy, mergers & acquisitions, operations improvement and new ventures across a number of industries. Mr. Kaye graduated with a B.A. in Economics & International Studies from Northwestern University in 1993, and an M.B.A. in Entrepreneurial Studies from the Anderson School at UCLA in 1997.
Ms. O'Brien serves as Chief Financial Officer and interim Director of the Redondo Beach center. In addition to launching Redondo Beach, she has focused on marketing, finance and legal processes and the company's Schools in Flight offering. Marie has a deep passion and experience with childhood development from helping launch a company that developed learning toys and materials for children. Her background includes commercial and investment banking and CFO consulting. She has spent the last 11 years in Finance and Business Development guiding dozens of companies in early-stage formation activities including capital structuring, designing financial systems and controls, and developing rollout and growth strategies for pre-IPO companies. Ms. O'Brien graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Finance from Auburn University in 1993, and an M.B.A. in Entrepreneurial Studies from the Anderson School at UCLA in 1997.
